Principal Engineer
Strobe is building the world's largest power plant: not a single site, but a distributed fleet of buildings, batteries, EVs, and generators that buy and sell power in real time across wholesale energy markets.
Own the reliability and performance of the entire system end-to-end, and lead the integration of new capacity into the fleet.
What you'd own
Own the reliability and performance of the whole system end-to-end — edge controllers, controls, cloud platform, and market-facing trading
Lead the integration of new capacity — buildings, batteries, EVs, generators — into the fleet
Work hands-on with engineers across hardware, controls, platform, fullstack, and trading to ship and operate it
Partner with the business to keep a reliable, performant power plant as the fleet scales by orders of magnitude
Own production on-call and incident response for systems that control physical hardware and move real money
Strong fit if you have
A deep staff/principal track record; you still read and write code every day
Owned the reliability and performance of a complex production system end to end — distributed cloud services plus the physical or real-time edge
Set technical standards others adopt, without needing a title or process to do it
Sound judgment under ambiguity, with energy markets, hardware, and regulation all moving at once
Bias toward shipping, with the rigor to keep safety-critical systems trustworthy

Founding-level technical leadership. High ownership, no layers.
